2021 – Stimulus Check Surprise!

12/31/2020 – New Years Eve

It’s New Year’s Eve and it’s time to start a new goal journal. 🙂 2020 has been a year of ups and downs for everyone across the globe. The Covid 19 pandemic altered so many people’s lives and goals, including mine. However, I had a pretty alright year. 😀 I accomplished a few big goals. I accumulated $15,000+ in net worth, bought a new-to-me beater car name Mr Meow Meow, went on fun bike rides, completed the Mammoth Challenge on the Ice Age Trail in October with A, and read 100 books!

The vaccine for Covid 19 is starting to be distributed throughout the world. A regular person, like me, won’t get it anytime soon, but the fact that it’s there, is giving many hope. Hope that things will turn back to “normal” soon. Hope that we’ll all get to be more “free” again.

Just like most people around the New Year’s, I’m making plans/goals/resolutions for the new year. Since I wrote down anything that popped in my mind, click here to see what they are so far. These are goals that I would like to accomplish in 2021, or start in 2021, if they’re a multi-year goal. Some I’ll probably discard along the way, but I’ll do my best to keep on track and see them through.

Also, planning life while listening to Babymetal rocks! 😀

1-1-2021 – New Years Day

Happy New Year!!

This morning I went to the lake to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately the haze/fog never lifted and the sun stayed hidden. It was still beautiful, though, with the blueish lighting. After a few minutes I left to go home cause I was getting cold.

On IG, Nav posted that the $600 stimulus check from the government was in our bank accounts. I checked and mine was in there. 🙂 Originally I was going to put it towards my emergency fund, but I’ll use it for the following things:

What I’m spending my stimulus check on

  • $447.33 — Apple ipad — bought last month on my REI card, and am paying it off
  • $28.00 — WI state park vehicle sticker — going to do lots of hiking this year!!! Yay!!
  • $25.00 — Garden plot — I’m renting a small garden plot for the first time ever. We’ll see if I have a green thumb or not. Lol
  • $99.67 — left over for now — I want to use the rest for something fun, but not sure what that will be. Maybe put towards a hiking adventure fund?
